Welcome to a stunning indoor cycling experience through the Lake District. Starting high in the fells above Coniston, we ride down toward Skelwith Bridge, taking in breathtaking views along the way. This journey features dramatic descents, peaceful valleys, and serene lakeside vistas.
We begin with a thrilling descent from Old Man of Coniston, passing The Bell and into Coniston village. From there, we head into the tranquil Yewdale Valley, where views of Holme Fell and Blake Rigg await. Next, we explore the peaceful Little Langdale and cycle through Fletcher’s Wood.
As we continue, we arrive at Elterwater, where Great Langdale Beck flows gently beside us, leading us to Elter Water, with its iconic reflection of the surrounding peaks. The final stretch takes us to Skelwith Bridge, where the rushing weirs provide a dramatic end to the ride.
This route blends challenging descents, peaceful landscapes, and stunning lakeside views, making it the perfect indoor cycling escape.

Our ride begins in the rugged hills above Coniston, with the majestic Old Man of Coniston dominating the landscape. We start with a thrilling descent through Little Arrow Moor, speeding downhill past the iconic The Bell and into the heart of Coniston village.
In Coniston, we head north toward the peaceful Yewdale Valley, where sweeping views of Holme Fell and Blake Rigg set the scene. The mix of open moorland and wooded paths makes for a picturesque and enjoyable ride, with gentle rises and falls as we move deeper into the quieter corners of the Lake District.
Next, we arrive at Little Langdale, a charming, lesser-known hamlet nestled among rolling hills and stone walls. This serene area offers a welcome escape from the busier tourist routes. Cycling through Fletcher’s Wood, we pass through dense woodlands, feeling as though we’re traveling through a hidden passageway.
Emerging from the forest, we reach the picturesque village of Elterwater, a popular stop for walkers and cyclists. The gentle flow of Great Langdale Beck accompanies us as we head east, providing a calming atmosphere as we approach Elter Water. The iconic reflection of the surrounding peaks on the lake’s still surface is one of the most striking views in the region.
As we continue along the beck, the landscape subtly transforms, with open fields giving way to woodland paths. The sound of rushing water becomes more prominent as we approach our final destination. Our journey concludes at Skelwith Bridge, where the dramatic sound of the weirs marks the end of our ride.
