Get ready for an adrenaline-pumping indoor cycling journey through the breathtaking Lake District! Our adventure begins at the summit of Fleetwith Pike, where panoramic views stretch across the rugged peaks of Grey Knotts and Dale Head, setting the stage for a thrilling ride.
As we descend, prepare for an exhilarating drop with gradients of up to 30%. The path leads us towards the Honister Mines, a place rich in industrial history and natural beauty, with towering peaks standing guard over the valley below.
Reaching the top of Honister Pass, we veer left onto winding trails that unveil stunning vistas at every turn. The landscape here is a perfect mix of dramatic crags, rolling valleys, and timeless beauty.
As we descend further, we reach Gatesgarth, where we pause to take in the view of the valley below, with Fleetwith Pike and Haystacks framing the horizon. The scenery here is truly picturesque.
Next, we catch sight of Buttermere, a tranquil lake nestled among lush hills. Cycling along its shoreline, the reflections of the surrounding peaks on the water create a serene and almost magical scene. We then pass through the charming village of Buttermere, a peaceful spot that captures the essence of the Lake District.
Leaving Buttermere behind, we head towards Crummock Water, where we’re treated to breathtaking views of Grasmoor and Mellbreak, two iconic peaks. Along the way, we pass farmers tending their sheep, adding a pastoral touch to this already picturesque ride.
Our route continues through the peaceful beauty of Loweswater, where the path is lined with greenery and gentle hills, providing a relaxing rhythm to our journey.
We end our ride at the Kirkstile Inn in Loweswater, a historic pub that offers the perfect end to our adventure, known for its traditional charm and warm hospitality.
