This scenic route is perfect for cycling enthusiasts who enjoy exploring beautiful landscapes, peaceful lakesides, and historic landmarks. Our journey begins at Dale Head, where we start with a gradual climb through the serene Martindale Common. Surrounded by rolling hills and unspoiled nature, it’s the perfect setting to kick off this epic ride.

Our first major highlight is the charming St Martin’s and St Peter’s churches in Martindale, set against the backdrop of the dramatic Hallin Fell. As we cycle past, we catch our first view of the serene Ullswater, an image that will stay with you throughout the ride.

Next, we descend into Howtown, a peaceful hamlet at the eastern edge of Ullswater. The ride here offers sweeping views of the tranquil lake and lush green countryside—one of the most scenic parts of the route where you can slow down and soak in the beauty.
